Zea is a genus of plants in the grass family. The best-known species is Zea mays, also known as maize or corn and one of the most important crops for human societies over much of the world.

    Your Web site is simply beautiful and alluring. And as much corn as the U.S. grows I did not know this. In fact I live right in the middle of corn and soy bean country in Illinois. My Mother used to say including the wheat that we, the U.S. grows that “we are the bread basket of the world.”
