O is for Overwinter – Word up!

Overwinter
\ˌō-vər-ˈwin-tər\
To keep a plant from autumn through winter. Plants which are susceptible to the action of frost on their leaves and stems are known as tender or semi-tender. Semi-tender plants which die down in the winter may survive outdoors if their crowns are covered with bracken, peat or straw. Tender plants are overwintered by bringing them indoors, under glass, for the duration of the frosts.
